In the fall of 2012, the Delta Chapter began
what they hope will become tradition for their charity fundraising. On
Sept. 2, the sisters attended the Washington Wild Things’ Fan
Appreciation baseball game at Falconi Field. Here, they were given the
opportunity to set up a booth at the gate and collect donations, while
spreading awareness for Autism Speaks. Sister Amanda Neilsen threw the
first pitch following the announcement of the group’s cause. With the
support of 20 tickets purchased by Bethany College’s Office of Student
Life and the donations of the Wild Things fans, the Delta Chapter
raised $196.43 for the world’s leading autism science and advocacy
organization.
