Luke Hardt, chair of the visual and performing arts
department and director of Bethany College Theatre, can be seen in a
political attack ad in the Stebenow/Hoekstra Michigan Senate race. In
the commercial, he plays the director of a soap opera frustrated in his
attempt to keep the actors from improvising political jabs into their
scripted lines.
Although the ad is airing in Michigan, it was shot at
WQED studios in Pittsburgh. In addition to flexing his acting muscles,
Luke also enjoyed hanging out at X the Owl and King Friday's Castle set
pieces still extant from “Mister Roger's Neighborhood.”
