DeStefano ‘09 Named Darlington County School District Outstanding First Year Teacher
Darlington (S.C.) High School teacher Jessica DeStefano ’09 has been named Darlington County School District’s Outstanding First Year Teacher. She was selected from among seven nominees. DeStefano earned her bachelor’s degree from Bethany in physical education with a minor in special education and is a certified exceptional education teacher. She also serves as the head volleyball coach and an assistant girls’ basketball coach for the school, as well as the student council sponsor.

Alumni Council Holds Bi-Annual Meeting
The Bethany College Alumni Association Board of Directors met on campus Saturday, April 2, 2011, for their bi-annual meeting. Following a breakfast at Christman Manor at Pendleton Heights hosted by President and Mrs. Scott D. Miller, the Council received updates on various areas of the College and toured the newly renovated Communications & Media Arts department. The tour was preceded by a presentation by M.E. Yancosek Gamble, chair of the department.
The members also worked on goals and objectives for the board as the group continues looking forward to long-range planning. The Bethany College Alumni Council meets on campus twice a year and communicates frequently in committee meetings via conference calls.
