Bordas and Bordas has named Carrie Scanlon ’94 as the new director
of communications and philanthropy. She will coordinate the firm’s
communications, community and media relations and philanthropic efforts.
Scanlon has more than fifteen years of experience in
marketing, public relations and sales. In previous appointments, she
has been responsible for grass-roots public relations efforts as well
as award-winning advertising campaigns, record-breaking special events
and product launches.
A graduate of Bethany College with a degree in public
relations, Scanlon also holds a Master's degree in communication theory
and research from West Virginia University and is finishing her
doctoral studies in communication media and instructional technology
from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Scanlon has presented at national and regional
communication conferences on public relations and the use of social
media. In 2011, she presented at the International Conference on
Information and Communication Technologies and Applications regarding
the use of social media as legal evidence in family court.
