Kalon Scholars to Hold Leadership Academy

The Kalon Scholar Service Leaders will be holding a Leadership Academy on Saturday, February 11 to help Bethany Students expand their leadership potential and gain valuable experience for their future education or employment.

The event will take place at Bethany’s Mountainside Conference Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature Chad Barnett, Bethany alumnus and Headmaster of the Linsly School, as keynote speaker with his presentation on “Using the College Experience to Maximize Your Leadership Potential”. Other session topics will include “Personality Types and Leadership”, “Managing vs. Leading”, “Conflict Resolution” and “Team Building”.

Chad Barnett is a recipient of the NAIS Edward E. Ford Fellowship Award for Emerging Leaders and is a published scholar with another forthcoming article in Philosophical Studies in Education.  He has served as Headmaster of Linsly School since 2008, and has previously served the school as Director of Admissions, Director of Summer School, English teacher, basketball and soccer coach, dormitory master, and intern. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership through the University of Pittsburgh, where he serves as Teaching Fellow at the School of Education with a graduate course on Education and Society

The Kalon Leadership Academy is free and open to all Bethany students. Participants will receive a certificate for attending.
