Psychology
Several students and faculty in Bethany’s Department of Psychology have had papers accepted for presentation at the annual meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association this March in Cambridge, Mass. Papers include: “Reality television’s influence on romantic relationship expectations” by Angela Tipton and Katrina Cooper, assistant professor of psychology and director of first year studies; “The effects of ovulation on attractiveness” by Meghan DeLorenzo and Katrina Cooper; “College-aged drinking: Are there different motivations for students over and under 21?” by Katrina Cooper; “You CAN tell a book (at least in part) by its cover” by John Hull — professor of psychology — Levi Naylor, and Debra Hull; and “Perceived characteristics of children’s toys” by Jena Hatmaker and John Hull. Additionally, Hull is coauthor of two other papers to be presented by students from Wheeling Jesuit University. Members of the Psychology Club will join the presenters in Cambridge.
Visual and Performing Arts
Assistant Professor of Music Pandel Collaros, and alumna Amanda McCoy performed blues, acoustic rock and original music in their second appearance at the Kenyon Inn on the campus of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, on January 28.
